The MDT400X allows guests to retrieve their valuables without the use of overhead lighting; unique top-opening design also provides hotel with many installation options.
New York, N.Y. – Oct. 26, 2015 – Dometic Group, a leading manufacturer of hospitality comfort products for hotels, resorts, and cruise ships, announced today that it will launch its new MDT400X in-room hotel safe at the HX: The Hotel Experience expo in New York City, Nov. 8-10.
The MDT400X provides an ideal location for keeping hotel guests’ valuables safe and secure. With its top-opening design and interior LED lighting, the MDT400X makes it easy for guests to view the inside of the safe and ensure that nothing is left behind. It also features an automatic locking mechanism with a confirmation buzzer that alerts guests when the safe is properly closed. Show participants can view the new MDT400X at HX: The Hotel Experience Booth #1936.
Part of Dometic’s line of class-leading in-room safes, the MDT400X features a digital-entry, integrated touch keypad with an LED display. This illuminated display, as well as the unit’s unique top-opening design, allows a hotel to install the safe anywhere in a guest room without the need for overhead lighting (e.g., inside closets or drawers). A four-digit combination assists guests in storing their valuables like laptops (up to 15”), cameras, and other personal items.
“Hotels around the world choose Dometic safes for their sleek design, industry-setting technologies, and easy operation, and our new MDT400X model continues this tradition,” said Fatiha Babou, Business Leader Lodging Americas for Dometic Group. “When traveling, hotel guests want to be certain that their valuables are safely secured in their rooms. Our newest top-opening safe offers the highest level of in-room security while also providing guests with that peace of mind. In addition, this model’s easy-to-use touch keypad and illuminated display provide a level of luxury and convenience for guests, enhancing their overall in-room experience.”
The MDT400X features a storage capacity of 8.5 liters with a 3mm thick steel door and a locking mechanism composed of two 19mm solid steel bolts. The model also comes with an optional handheld audit device that allows hotel management to access the safe in the event of an emergency. This device can also generate a detailed audit report of the last 125 events simply by downloading information to a computer.
Other features include:
Emergency Opening. When guests arrive to the hotel they access the safe using a personal four-digit guest code. In the event a guest forgets their code there are various secure ways to open the unit. An authorized hotel staff member can use the Master Key, a six-digit Emergency Master Code, or opt for the Computerized Emergency Unit (CEU) as described above.
Battery Level Check. All Dometic safe models operate on four AA batteries, and allow staff members to easily check the battery levels at any time.
Pre-drilled Mounting Holes. Dometic safes come standard with pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation in a guest room. An optional fixing kit is also available, which includes all of the necessary hardware for securing the safe to a shelf or platform.
In addition to launching the MDT400X at HX: The Hotel Experience, Dometic will be exhibiting its popular DM50 drawer-style minibar, and also offering a sneak peek of its DW6 wine cooler that will soon be introduced in the United States.
All Dometic products are not only designed and engineered by Dometic, but are also produced in Dometic-owned manufacturing facilities with the highest quality-control standards.
