Dometic Launches New Mobile Cooling Units at National Hardware Show

Stop by the Dometic booth, Outdoor #136 in the Tailgate & Outdoor Area, to see the new, expanded line of Dometic CFX portable refrigerator/freezers – providing innovative ice-free cooling for campers, tailgaters and outdoor enthusiasts.

ELKHART, Ind. – April 26, 2016 Dometic Group, the leading provider of mobile cooling products for campers, tailgaters and outdoor enthusiasts, today announced that it will showcase an expanded line of its award-winning CFX Series of Portable Refrigerator/Freezers at this year’s National Hardware Show, to be held May 4-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“At the 2015 Hardware Show, the Dometic CFX Series won the Best Overall Tailgate Product Award in recognition of the product’s innovative approach to mobile cooling. This year, we’re looking forward to showing retailers and other show attendees how the CFX’s ice-free, high-performance freezing and refrigeration is changing the way Americans enjoy their recreation and leisure time,” said Derek Laninga, Dometic’s director of sales for retail products.

The CFX is true mobile cooling for food and drinks – with no messy ice required. It looks like a standard cooler, but is actually a powerful refrigerator/freezer that runs on 12V or 24V DC power from a car, truck or RV; or, plug it into a 120V AC power source. The rugged CFX keeps food and drinks colder than a fridge at home, even in scorching hot weather.

Dometic will be showcasing the new, extended line of CFX units at booth Outdoor #136. The smaller units – the CFX-28 (launching for the first time at the show), CFX-35, CFX-40 and CFX-50 – can operate either as a refrigerator or freezer, depending on where you set the thermostat. The larger, “dual-zone” units, the CFX-65DZ and CFX-95DZ (also launching for the first time at the show), each have separate compartments for storing fresh refrigerated food and frozen food simultaneously.

All CFX models come with a soft-touch digital thermostat. A quick-chill turbo function runs compressors at maximum performance until desired temperatures are reached, from -8ºF to 50ºF. CFX units can run on 120V AC, 12V DC or 24V DC power. Once the temperature is reached, the CFX draws just 1 amp of power consumption to maintain the temperature. The thermostat memory retains preset temperatures even after being turned off.

Dometic electric coolers (fridge/freezers) are leaders in performance, features and value. Dometic mobile cooling technology was originally designed for the Australian outback, where advanced cooling and rugged construction are top priorities. Each CFX unit has heavy-duty stainless-steel hinges and strong latches, drop-down spring-loaded handles, removable baskets, detachable and reversible lids, a USB port for charging small electronic devices and a separate dairy compartment. Both AC and DC power cords are also included.

An optional freestanding or wall-mounted CFX Wireless Display allows owners to monitor and control their CFX unit from up to 49 feet away – providing peace of mind if the owner wants to spend time away from the CFX unit or leave it outdoors. Easy-touch buttons allow users to set cooling temperature. The display is equipped with an alarm that can sound an alert when the CFX’s internal temperature increases above the desired level. The Wireless Display works on all models except for the NEW CFX-95DZUS, which can be remotely monitored and controlled by a new mobile app (available for Android and iOS).

At the Hardware Show, Dometic will also display custom-fit durable padded covers for the CFX. The insulated covers are designed with openings to allow owners to easily reach controls to adjust temperature, turn the unit on/off or access the refrigerated compartments. Show attendees may also want to check out Dometic’s easy-to-install stainless steel slides for cargo areas, truck beds, and RV storage compartments, which hold the CFX in place while driving and allow for easy access to contents while tailgating, camping, or transferring items in/out.

Show visitors interested in traditional ice chest coolers can check out the Dometic Avalanche, a rugged cooler with thick insulated walls; it can be used with conventional or dry ice to keep food cold for up to 10 days. Also on display will be the D™ Line and KOA Line of cleaning products and portable toilets for camping.
