Results & Achievements

Collection of key-data for the Operation & Environment Report continues and is made for all factories since 2001

2009: European legislation such as EUP, Energy labelling and Energy Efficiency, REACH and Refrigerants plays a central role in Dometics environmental work this year.

2008: Integration of newly acquired factories into Dometic Environmental Program. Focus on REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals).

2007: Implementation and follow up of Dometic’s Environmental Guideline for Product Development. A further number of factories in Europe and US implement Dometic’s internal environmental system: MER Minimum Environmental Requirements.

2006: Updated Environmental Policy approved by Group Management. Database for storage and presentation of data from Operation & Environment Report. Environmental Guideline for Product Development updated and improved.

2005: The New Dometic Recycling Equipment up and running at a German recycling company, A further three life cycle analysis (LCA) were carried out for three different products: Air-Conditioner, Generator and Toilet system. A further three factories certified according to ISO14001.

2004: New Silencio miniCool launched in 2004 has reduced the energy consumption by some 25-30% compared to previous generation., A further three life cycle analysis (LCA) were carried out for three different refrigerators. The Environmental Board adopted the Dometic Environmental Management System Policy (MER and ISO14001).

2003: Introduction of the new HiPro absorption miniBar generation that feature 15% lower energy consumption than previous generation. The first life cycle analysis (LCA) was carried out for an absorption refrigerator. The fourth factory certified according to ISO14001.

2002: Dometic Environmental Policy adopted by Group Management, Environmental Policy Brochure printed. New recycling equipment is being developed.

2001: A complete environmental assessment of all factories made, Studies on alternative recycling techniques started.

2000: Environmental Design Guideline created for the R&D departments.

1999: Environmental Product Declaration Sheets created for a number of key products.

1998: The three major absorption factories certified according to ISO14001.

1995: Second step of change of blowing agent from HCFC to HC. The refrigerant (ammonia-water) that is a non ODS or GWP remains the same.

1994: New generation of absorption miniBar introduced. Thanks to new design, vacuum panels and smart electronic regulation it features 40% less energy consumption.

1993: Phase out of ozone depleting substance and substances with global warming potential started with change of the blowing agent from CFC to HCFC.
