A well-equipped recreation vehicle is easy to spot. It has two refrigerator ventilation grilles on the outside.
Dometic ventilation systems are designed to release the heat on the back of your fridge and allow easy service and maintenance, i.e. cleaning the exhaust duct without requiring removal of the refrigerator.
Your new vehicle will probably have this system installed. If you‘re retrofitting, you need to fit the ventilation grilles in the outside skin of the vehicle above and below the refrigerator. The upper grille allows heated air to escape, while the lower grille admits cooler air from the outside to the rear of the refrigerator.
The proven LS 100/LS 200 system used in all single door absorption refrigerators has stood the test of time. The version LS 300 (replaces L 500 during 2005) with an enlarged cross-section is designed for double door models.
When your caravan or motorhome is equipped with an awning on the same side as the refrigerator, the roof ventilation R 500 will ensure that the refrigerator gets the required ventilation and expected performance. It can be used together with all of the Dometic side ventilation LS 100 through LS 300/L 500.
