POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – May 6, 2008 – Dometic Environmental Corporation has
received electrical safety certification from Energy Safe Victoria for the Dometic CR-series line of marine refrigerators. The Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) can now be applied, signifying that the products meet both electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
“This approval was truly a global effort,” said Ken Taranto, vice president of galley and aftermarket sales for Dometic Environmental. “Our factory in Asia and our engineers and operations centers in the U.S. and Australia all worked together to ensure our refrigerators were compliant with Australian and New Zealand standards.”
Designed for the rigors of the marine environment, the four Dometic CR-series refrigerator models range in size from 1.7 to 3.8 cubic feet and run on Danfoss BD35F compressors. Each model contains a separate freezer compartment and features a patented double-lock mechanism to secure the top and bottom of the door. A sturdy steel sheet behind the insulation and steel supports provides additional stability.
The voluntary RCM is a mark used on products that have met the applicable regulatory requirements for the legal sale of products under electrical safety and electromagnetic legislation in both New Zealand and Australia. It supersedes the mandatory C-Tick mark, which certifies EMC only.
