Caprock Communications Selects Radome ECUs

Radome Environmental Control Units

A/C For Company's Maritime VSAT Antennas

HVAC systems specialist Dometic Marine is to supply eight Radome Environmental Control Units (ECUs) to CapRock Communications, a global satellite communications provider to remote environments, for use with the company's maritime VSAT antennas. Dometic Marine's unique Radome system is designed to provide ideal temperatures and humidity levels inside radar and antenna domes to prevent sensitive electronic equipment from overheating.

"Radar or antenna domes typically house a high volume of electrical equipment within a compact space, creating the potential for the equipment to overheat which could permanently damage the system and in extreme cases risk safety. Dometic's Radome ECU is a unique solution which maintains the ideal temperature for safe operation of the equipment within the dome, eliminating the risk of overheating," comments Paul Hickinbotham, Director of Sales & Operations, Dometic Marine UK.

Hickinbotham adds, "The supply of the Radome ECUs to Caprock Communications is a key milestone for Dometic in the European commercial marine market. The Radome ECU meets Caprock Communications' specific requirements to cool electrical equipment within their antenna domes."

The Radome ECU is available as a split-gas, remote ducted self-contained or interior self-contained unit and uses R417A environmentally safe refrigerant. The system's highly efficient and powerful rotary compressor provides quiet operation, exceptional reliability and reduced amperage.

The Radome ECU's compact and lightweight design ensures easy installation and maintenance. The system features a corrosion resistant coating to provide exceptional durability in the marine environment. Additionally, the solid state digital controller provides precise operation, while the control circuitry monitors and protects the unit during operation.
