New Smaller Crushed-Ice System

The Ice Cube Produces 10 Pounds of Ice per Hour

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – October 7, 2008 – Dometic has released the Ice Cube – a small crushed-ice system that produces up to 250 pounds (113 kg) of ice per day. A smaller version of the company’s Eskimo Ice system, this cube-shaped version is ideal for boats with less available space or less demand for daily ice output. Generating ice within minutes after starting the unit, it produces more than 10 pounds (4.5 kg) of crushed ice per hour under normal operating conditions.

The Ice Cube is a self-contained unit that is easy to install and has a footprint of only 16 inches x 16 inches (407 millimeters x 407 millimeters). The ice it produces can be pumped through hose lengths up to 16 feet (4.5 meters) to nearly any desired location onboard, such as a fish box, drink box or cooler. The precharged system also features a water filter, start-time delay, photoelectric ice-level sensor and up to two remotely mounted digital display panels.

Operation of the Ice Cube is easy with its Smart Logic Digital Displays. A full menu of sensors and status lights monitor gas pressure, auger motor, compressor, water level, ice level, and ice clogs, and will shut off the system if problems are detected. The system automatically resets and restarts for certain key functions that can be triggered by extreme boat motion.
