Dometic Increases the Capacity of its Variable Chiller by 60 percent
Dometic adds a new model with an impressive capacity of 120,000 BTU to its innovative Variable Capacity Chiller (VARCX) product range. The VARCX chiller automatically matches its capacity to the thermal load of the vessel to maximize the efficiency and reduce load on the generator.
Dometic’s innovative Variable Capacity Chiller (VARCX) has been well received in the leisure boat industry because of its market-leading energy efficiency, while maintaining a comfortable air temperature inside the cabins.
With the new model’s 120,000 BTU capacity, larger vessels and superyacht owners can now benefit from the chiller’s efficiency which saves both energy consumption and cost of running, which results in a big saving in cost of ownership.
The new Dometic VARCX120 has a capacity of 30,000 - 120,000 BTU which is 60% more than the current largest model, VARCX72.
The variable capacity technology maximizes chiller efficiency and reduces electrical load fluctuations by modulating the compressor speed to precisely match the actual demand while still maintaining a constant temperature.
Dometic’s VARCX series also features a unique, robust titanium condensing coil which is impervious to erosion and corrosion and extends the life of the unit.
Another notable new function is multiple power supply solutions. The Dometic VARCX 120 is designed for larger vessels and has the capability of three different power supply solutions to choose from.

- 440V / 50 & 60 Hz / 3 phase
