Bad choice of materials
"I just removed my rack after 4 years of use. After the install (4 years back), I had to buy the rubber trim from Prinsu for the bottom of the wind fairing. I had to fix the deafening noise at hwy. speed. The first time I secured my canoe to the rack, the powder coating flaked off the rails. Upon removing this rusty rack, many of the bolts snapped because of garbage hardware. Find a rack made of aluminum and stainless. Stay away from stamped steel if you live in a climate where rust could be an issue."
