Data information notice in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (‘Data Act’) for connected products and related services

Connected products and related services of Dometic generate various data and information during their use. The following provides information about the data transferred and made available when using the service, how to access this data, and your data rights.

1. Logged product data

1.1. Affected products

Below listed products are affected by chapter 1 of this document:

  • Dometic FreshJet FJZ

1.2. Type, volume, storage methods and retention period

During the operation and use of the product, the following product data and related service data may be generated and transmitted. The specific data generated will vary based on the particular product capabilities and usage of the product.

(a) Types and format of product data

  • Physical data: (for instance temperature, power limiter, energy source used)

  • Status data (for instance on/off, present/not present, current activity mode)

  • Error messages

  • Setting values / user configurations (for instance room setpoint temperature, operational modes, fan speeds

The data is transferred to the related services as a binary log file.

(b) Estimated volume

The amount of data varies depending on the data point and the use of the product, but the data volume is estimated to be single digits mega bytes per day.

(c) Storage method and retention period:

The data is stored on the product and overwritten when space limit is reached

(d) Access modalities

You can access the data generated by the product and stored within the related services by contacting Dometic according to contact details specified in section 7.

2. Generated related service data

In addition to submitted product data, related service data is generated when using the services.

2.1 Type and estimated volume of generated related service data

(a) Types of related service data:

  • Physical data (for instance temperature, power limiter)

  • Status data (for instance on/off, present/not present, current activity mode)

  • User configurations (for instance room setpoint temperature, operational modes, fan speeds)

  • Error messages

  • Device identification data (for instance serial number, hardware and software version)

(b) Estimated volume

The amount of data varies depending on the data point and the use of the Service, with data volumes per data point ranging from 1 byte/h to 250 kB/h.

(c) Currentness of data

The data in the product is generated during use and operation in real time and continuously.

3. Storage location and retention period

The storage location and retention period vary for different data points.

The data is stored on external servers under the data holder's responsibility.

  • Snapshots are overwritten when a new one is requested. Historical data is stored for two years, after that, it is anonymized.

5. Terms of service, contract term and termination options

6. Information on our own use of the data received

The data received and generated is used by the data holder as follows:

  • To provide the functionalities of the Service and the networked product

  • For the development and further development of products and services

9. Right of appeal to the supervisory authority

In the event that you believe that your rights under Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent authority responsible for supervising compliance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2854.

10. Information on trade secrets

The data generated by the networked product and the Service includes data that is subject to trade secret protection.
