Great product. Lacks simple installation directions.
"I struggled to install this product on an ARB roof rack that came with my 4Runner. The installation instructions didn’t specify where the washer went. I watched the install video provided by Dometic. Cute but lacking. There were two install options. I looked at how the bolt/washer/nut arrangement fit with both options and it appeared to me that the water would provide the bolt head, that fit into the t-rail slot, the most purchase so i installed the washer between the bolt head and the t-rail. I learned the hard way that was the wrong arrangement. On two rack arms I couldn’t get the bolt head to stop spinning when i tightened the nut and therefore couldn’t properly install two rack arms. I watched a third party’s install video and while they didn’t specify where the washer went they had a fleeting shot of the washer between the nut and the bottom of the rack. I called ARB and Dometic to solve this problem. Dometic told me where the washer went. This was after I’d struggled with the install for over an hour for something that should’ve taken 10-15 minutes. The customer service was great but i was surprised by the lack of details in the install video & the lack of instructions included with the rack. Plus they said their products were designed to work with their other products; they didn’t seem to realize that there are millions of potential customers like me who get a competitor’s product factory-installed but would like to use their accessories."
